Hi there
Thanks for checking out my ‘Blog’.
I’m the wife of a gorgeous man who loves fast motorbikes, mother of two equally gorgeous young boys who keep me very busy, part-time legal assistant and I live in suburban Sydney.
Over the past years I’ve navigated some challenges including surviving cancer, having two hip replacements due to a congenital hip disorder and caring for my father with dementia and my mother with a terminal brain tumour until their recent deaths.
My husband, kids, friends, faith in God, sense of humour and a few glasses of chardonnay, have allowed me to survive these years. I love pondering the spiritual aspects of life and crafting these thoughts into words. I don’t profess to have all the answers, but I like to ask the questions, and seek the truth.
My faith, friends and family have helped me travel through some dark places in my life and I hope my insights may be helpful to somebody out there.
Cheers,
Kerry

It is slightly daunting having a sister who blogs – I live in dread that I will somehow appear in some form perhaps not in a favourable light! It is also rather interesting that quite often it is our own families who find it hardest to recognise and appreciate the talent and uniqueness of those closest to us. So Kerry, keep up your blog – with its innate sense of humour, insight and wisdom.
Well done!
All my love,
Linley
(I can see that you will never go pale again!)
Kerry you are an inspiration – and I am not sure whether you know how many people are inspired by you. I certainly am one of those people.
You also write beautifully.
Kerry
Your writing makes the reader feel that her or she is with you in the very situation you are writing about. I’ve just read “Stuck in the Elevator”. I felt your panic, anxiety forwanting to be with Chris and the kids, the embarassment when you had to get out the same way you went in and I well know the blushing feeling when you remember things that have happened.
Always a joy to read your work.

I’ve just recently stumbled on this blog and have been reading your posts with great pleasure. Your writing is authentic and joyous and compassionate and often quite eloquent. I look forward to reading more.
Hi Tracy – I’m really glad you enjoyed reading – it is so encouraging to receive comments like yours!
Hi Kerry,
I just checked out your latest post and found your thoughts on forgiveness and the truth of your writing about your relationship with your mum moving and insightful. Thanks.
See you at Art and Soul on Friday.
from the other Kerry.

What you wrote about your mother and the eulogy was wonderful. You are such a brave and inspirational women. Your mother would be so very proud.
Love Andi xx
You have such an awesome blog.
Thanks very much & thanks for taking the time to read it.
Hi Kerry – Thanks so much for dropping by my blog and leaving such a lovely comment. I have so enjoyed reading your writings that I have placed your link on my own blog. On the topic of what to say to a grieving friend, my dad commented how very few of their friends came to see Mom at the nursing home. He couldn’t understand that as he was there hours every day. I wrote a blog on that called “Just Say ‘Hi’ “. When in doubt of what to say, it’s okay to say – “I was thinking of you and just wanted to stop by to say hi.” Those words can mean so much.
My heart is with you on the loss of your parents. The pain goes beyond words, doesn’t it? My best to my only Aussie friend! Candy
I shall keep my eye on your blog. it is a real find. I am so glad you have come through many of your difficulties with health etc
Hi Kerry, so glad you stumbled upon my blog! Looking forward to reading yours and connecting with you.
